So as I said I am a huge gaming nerd.  I worked for about 3 years or so as a developer so I got to play games professionally.  It creates an addiction.  Here's a list of games (by type) I either play currently, or have played before.

 

Board Games

Sorry, Monopoly(thousands of standard kid style board games actually), Puerto Rico, Settlers of Cataan, Pandemic, Arkham Horror, The Hills Rise Wild, Cults Across America, Trailer Park Gods, and a dozen more.

 

Card Games

Magic the Gathering, A Game of Thrones, Illuminati, Dominion (all current expansions), WoW tcg, 40k tcg, Marvel VS, and a handful more.

 

Miniatures Games

Mordheim, Necromunda, MageKnight, Crimson Skies, Mechwarrior Dark Ages, Battletech, Warhammer, Warhammer 40k, Warmachine, Flames of War, HeroClix, and a few assorted games that never made it to full production.

 

Roleplaying Games

2nd Ed. AD&D, 3rd Ed D&D (and 3.5), Mage the Ascension, Werewolf the Apocalypse, Wrath the Oblivion, Vampire the Masquerade, Hunter the Reckoning, Demon the Fallen, Hackmaster, Nobilis, In Nomine, Aeon Trinity, Fading Suns, Rifts, Brave New World, Legend of the Five Rings(aka L5R), 7th Seas, All Flesh Must Be Eaten, Witchcraft, and at least five dozen more I can't recall at the moment.

Not anymore.  I played for three months when it launched and lost interest. It was so difficult to level back then I pretty quickly got fed up with it.  In the three months I got one character to 29th level, and another to 12th.  Now you can get a character to 70 or 80 in a few weeks.

Prior to WoW though, Joe and used to CRUSH Star Wars Galaxies.  We ran the 3rd largest guild on the Scylla server.

The mission: You’re a hooker. You fight through pesky zombie hordes to rescue old survivors and lead them back to your trailer where you shag for points. That’s it.

 

Logic intermission: I find it extremely hard to believe that the only remaining survivors are old senior citizens as they trot around slowly in their slippers and walkers. If they were in walkers to begin with, wouldn’t they have been devoured by zombies by now?

 

The perks: The game is riddled with weapons and blunt objects at your disposal. There’s an Uzi, a shovel, a set of nine-irons you can use, and of course a mop. When hookers aren’t busy propositioning themselves to lonely congressman and married men, they’re busy cleaning and almost always have a mop handy. The hooker should have just sanded the zombie’s face with a Brillo pad. The only neat element I saw within Zombie Hooker Nightmare was that the game had a variety of weapons, but that idea is turned sour when each weapon has a health bar.

 

The flerks: As mentioned, each weapon has a health bar and when you’ve used the weapon too long she’ll throw it to the ground. I’ve seen a lot of zombie flicks and not once has a character broken a baseball bat over a zombie’s head rendering the weapon useless. Even then I would be resourceful enough to tie the two pieces together with shoe string and - presto pesto - you got a pair of nunchucks! So as soon as the gun runs out of ammo she’ll toss it. ‘Gee, its odd how I just found this Uzi laying here. Now there’s NO possible way after finding a gun that I will find an ammo cache inconspicuously placed somewhere. There’s absolutely no use for this gun, so I’ll just throw it away. Don’t forget to recycle!’

I wouldn't call myself a hardcore gamer, but there are a couple I can't live without:

Call of Duty (all installments, and particularly World at War and Black Ops where you get the first-person-shooter experience of killing Nazi zombies...Suh-weeeet!)

Gears of War

Half-Life for PC (and all add-ons and sequels)...pretty primative at this point but soooo much fun. Naturally there's tons of zombie fun.

Half-Life, aka "Orange Box" for gaming systems (includes "Portals"...there's supposedly a sequel in the works)

Medal of Honor Tier One
Call of Duty Black Ops
Splinter Cell I like all but Convictions is my favorite
I'm also into racing games
Need for Speed
Burnout Paradise
I also like the new Alan Wake

Has anyone ever played Mafia on PC or XBOX? I effing loved that game and just recently aquired an original XBOX and the game for 5 bucks!!! Yay ME! Other than that,

Im burned out on COD but I havent gotten Black Ops yet either to try that,

I think thats about it. I sold my personal 360 this week and was supposed to get a new slim but it hasnt happened yet, hopefully next week Ill have time.

I wished I had time for pen and paper games and role playing games but no one around here is really into them so I havent had the chance to get into them.

Chris, I noticed our RPG tastes are very similar. (except that I hated 3rd ed)  I recently got a chance to try a game called MouseGaurd. Your PCs are mice. I know...sounds stupidly cute and fluffy right?  Not quite, it's actually really dark, and hard to survive. I really liked it. It's an indie game so youd have to look around for it but you might be able to find it Amazon or Ebay...pretty good game though
